My Group




        For my music video project I have decided to work again with Felipe Lopez but also with Dartamian Dolorean. This exciting and riveting project almost provokes the assignee to attempt the task alone however I believe it is most beneficial to me if I attempt this project with a hard-working partners like Felipe and Dartamian. This is because the introduction of a new member will contribute to our collaborative relationship and solve disputes because of the odd number of participants. This introduction will also prevent production errors from slipping through the cracks and introduce new opinions to our discussions. I also felt that the introduction of a new member was must due to music videos usually containing a larger amount of actors and varying camera angles and the addition to another person makes all of those things more possible. 

    I chose to work again with Felipe because of our long lasting friendship which ensures our collaboration will most likely end in a feud. Felipe also has a pool and club floor in his complex which gives us a wide selection of locations we wish to shoot at. We also collaborated extremely well while making our previous project and never had any conflict when filming or editing. Felipe also has a very persevering personality and even when we struggles in our project with lack of supplies he kept pushing and we eventually succeeded.  I decided to work with Dartamian as well because after seeing his previous project I realized his editing skills and abilities where much more advanced then mine and he could greatly increase my groups production quality. This was fully broadcasted to me when working on my previous commercial where Dartamian constantly offered to act and gave suggestions which only bettered our project. Dartamian has also been a great friend of mine and I really enjoy spending time with him so filming a music video regardless of how long it takes will be very enjoyable. The main reason I selected these groupmates is there chemistry as since they already have built a friendship it will be easy for them to work with each other rather then finding new groupmates to work with. 

    The song I selected for this project is the song Maps by Maroon Five. I decided to use this song because it is not at a very rapid tempo and is easy to follow lyrically. This is perfect for our project because it lets me create a story that can partially coincide with the lyrics because of there pace and easy to follow rhythm. I also chose this song because it has a clear storyline and progression that we can encapsulate clearly in video form. I also really enjoy the song which will make it very enjoyable to work on. I am very excited to begin working on this project and work with new group mates and make a great music video.

The first title was the name of the production company, which was then followed by the two produces of the film. After this the film lists the name of then director, then the sequence lists the two star actors of the film. Time and Order

      Today I began the process of determining which shots will be included in the final product and what order they would fit into the puzzle of creating a film. I decided to edit this project on the movie because I felt that using familiar software would allow me to curate the best film I could while I gain a better understanding of the more technical programs for my future projects. I also decided to choose this program because it would let my group easily import the takes we recorded due to the transferability between all of our recording devices. I began this process by ordering the takes based on their desired chronological order and working from there.      Once I compiled the clips in this fashion I started to examine the clips and remove those that clearly were not usable in the final product. Production Blog: Corrections

           After a successful day of filming my groupmates and I began to review the footage we filmed the day prior. This process took us around thirty minutes as we shuffled through all of our footage and finally decided upon which footage we would use in the editing process. After this I finalized the order of the our music video and which scenes should be included. Overall this was not very difficult as only a few scenes being where removed.     However, this process revealed a major flaw in our production process which was two improperly shot scenes. These missing scenes where located in the section of the music video where the friend of the main character was knocked unconscious. At first this issue seemed minor however, as I continued to re-watch the video I realized it did not meet the expected standards.
