Production Blog: Filming

Today my group embarked on our second day of filming. Today the weather and conditions looked ideal and we were excited to approach the day. These great conditions inspired me to move expeditiously to collect my costume and the costume of my groupmates. Then I collected the props required of me for my project, then I traveled to the setting of my film. Once I arrived at the setting I met with my group and waited for the remaining actors to arrive. Once they did so we leisurely headed to the elevator to film as the indoor nature and good conditions provided us with no reason to hurry. Once we finally reached the elevator for filming arranged for me to watch over the vacancy of elevators and hallways to prevent an unpleasant encounter with residents. This strategy succeeded as the lookout was able to call out residents successfully every time they were present. After filming this scene we began to film our scenes in the stairwell. These scenes were much easier to film as the stairwells

Today my group began filming our grand production. My objective today was for my group to complete the introductory and establishing shot of my film along with all other scenes filmed in the garage location. The filming process today was successful however the beginning was very difficult due to late arrivals. At the beginning of the filming hours the lead villain of my film was yet to show up and took around thirty minutes for him to arrive on the set. Then after our actor arrived we realized that the weather was not very nice and appeared as if it was going to rain. At the sight of this my group rushed outside and nabbed our establishing shot to capture the establishing shot of my film. Next we recorded the take of the car entering the premises to begin the film. Upon our first take of this shot we captured the car entering quite well however, there was a pedestrian in the way that deteriorated the feelings of the shot. After this we proceeded to rerecord the car entering a

Today my group finally began filming the film we have constructed after months of planning. This day was very exciting because this after a long awaited period of delay and maneuvering through the difficulties of the planning process. For this short filming day we arrived at our groupmates house at around two thirty to begin filming. Before we began filming my group met and discussed the plan for the day. We decided that we would film the scenes of our film in the parking lot in our first day. We decided to film these scenes because the weather was perfect for the feelings we desired in those scenes. We began filming the first scene by equipping our costumes and heading down to the first floor. Then we set up the tripod that our groupmate purchased to stabilize and maintain our shots and we began filming the shot. In this scene one of our characters enters the garage on the verge of death and must successfully display desperation in his conversation with another character. This wa

For my groups movie I have decided to utilize creative claims licensed music for the entirety of our film. This decision was not my first as I originally reached out to 14th Street Music for access to the creative works of their client Hanz Zimmer. However, this message was not met with any response and after multiple attempts I gave up on contacting the artist. This lead me to begin contacting other famous composers and musical artists for permission in utilizing their music however after multiple occurrences of my messages being ignored I began to search for non copy-right options. The first step I took in the process of finding copy-right free music I began researching the different forms of licensing music for the suspenseful portion of our video. After researching I decided that the best form of copy right free music to utilize would be creative commons licensed music. I believe that this would be the best music to utilize because it is fully free in terms of use and there is no

Genre Re-organization

Image
As my group ventures further in the production process of this film issues that where once minor cracks have began to expand. The largest flaw that has begun to show is the misrepresentation of our genre. At the beginning of our production process this issue seemed very minor however, as the production process has raged on I have realized that the mystery genre does not unite with the vision as well as pictured. I believe that this can be mainly attributed to our inability to flush out an entire plot within two minutes. Therefore our film does not agree with the conventions of a mystery thriller. However, we still believe that the film still agrees with the genre just through the medium of the mystery-thriller genre.      Musically our film would not agree with that of a typical thriller. This flaw was exposed to us when the exciting and enthralling music that would be featured in our film unnerved the reader rather than peaking interest. This would negatively impact our film be

Production Blog: Costume and scheduling mishap

Image
Today my group was set to begin filming our movie. However, this much-awaited and anticipated day was postponed by failures in scheduling and management by all groupmates. This mishap has greatly hindered my group as it put a wrench in my group's entire schedule. This issue in schedule erose from our groupmate who has access to the setting not being able to participate. While at first, this issue may have an obvious fix that being that we switch to our alternate location of filming. However, we decided that not only would this greatly decrease my group's submissions quality. Furthermore, we agreed that it was not wise to film with a replacement for our main character because these changes were too drastic and brash. The issues we faced today not only are the fault of the setting proprietor but also my other groupmate and myself. For this project, I was tasked with collecting the costumes for the video. Despite this duty, I was unable to gather all of the costumes expected of me
