Today my group finally began filming the film we have constructed after months of planning. This day was very exciting because this after a long awaited period of delay and maneuvering through the difficulties of the planning process. For this short filming day we arrived at our groupmates house at around two thirty to begin filming. Before we began filming my group met and discussed the plan for the day. We decided that we would film the scenes of our film in the parking lot in our first day. We decided to film these scenes because the weather was perfect for the feelings we desired in those scenes. We began filming the first scene by equipping our costumes and heading down to the first floor. Then we set up the tripod that our groupmate purchased to stabilize and maintain our shots and we began filming the shot. In this scene one of our characters enters the garage on the verge of death and must successfully display desperation in his conversation with another character. This was extremely difficult and it took us multiple takes to acquire a desirable shot. In the first few takes we where unsuccessful and we where not able to get the correct facial expressions we desired. In the next few shots that acting suddenly improved greatly however, the cameras quality along with the lighting deteriorated greatly. However, after we resolved this issue the next shot we took was excellent and it satisfied all our desires. For the next scene we where going to film the villain walking towards the now dead character from the previous scene. The first step we took in filming this was ensuring that the driveway was clear of any vehicles entering or exiting through the ramp. Next we ensured that the cameraman and camera was in position and that the lighting was pristine as we wanted all of the variables in our control to be perfect. Next we filmed the shot of the car pulling into the driveway and the main character and the villain exiting which appeared perfecting terms of our artistic visions. For the final scene of the day we decided to film the villain exiting his car and approaching the dying man. To begin we ensured that the cars position remained the same and that the lighting was correct. Finally we obtained the correct shot and concluded filming day one.
