Production Blog Editing

As the timer winds down till the final products deadline final changes and alterations are in the works. These changes have included changes to title size, music changes, and overall editing adjustments. An example of this was today when I was tasked with remixing the music levels of the project. This task became necessary after my group remixed and replacement of the original audio in some scenes which completely disrupted the relationship of the music with our project. The first step I took in this process was just relistening to the project with my eyes closed to gather a better understanding of the audio issues. What I noticed from these changes was that the audio levels in scenes with voiceovers seemed really off as the music was way too loud. To fix this issue I decided to recalibrate the music rather than the original audio by turning it down a few notches. These changes made a humongous impact and made the audio even more transcribable.   Camera Angles Common camera angles in Thrillers are high angles, close ups, and tilted. The high angle makes the actor in the camera look vulnerable. Close-ups shows really what the actor's reaction is and how they are feeling. A tilted shot adds dramatic tension to the scene.  Camera Shots Long shots and over the shoulder shots are commonly used in Thrillers. Long shots in Thrillers are used to make something feel far away or unobtainable. The over the shoulder shot builds up tension and suspense. Camera Movements A commonly used camera movement in Thrillers  is tracking. Tracking is used to make an actor look as if they are being watched or followed. Production Blog: Editing

       Today I began the editing process for my music video after concluding my days of filming and preparation. While this day of editing was very exciting it was primarily relieving as the previous issues that led up to this moment made the day of editing a checkpoint that marked the end of production errors and prop misplacement. The first step I took in the editing process was selecting the desired clips and placing them into the desired order, this was the simplest section of the editing process as it always is. Once I completed this step I viewed the raw unedited version of the music video, this viewing while cringe inducing was very relieving as similarly to the start of the editing process the first viewing marked the first signs of a quality production.      Immediately after viewing the raw compilation of clips I watched the unedited version two more times while recording the areas that where in need of trimming.
