Production Blog Editing

As the timer winds down till the final products deadline final changes and alterations are in the works. These changes have included changes to title size, music changes, and overall editing adjustments. An example of this was today when I was tasked with remixing the music levels of the project. This task became necessary after my group remixed and replacement of the original audio in some scenes which completely disrupted the relationship of the music with our project. The first step I took in this process was just relistening to the project with my eyes closed to gather a better understanding of the audio issues. What I noticed from these changes was that the audio levels in scenes with voiceovers seemed really off as the music was way too loud. To fix this issue I decided to recalibrate the music rather than the original audio by turning it down a few notches. These changes made a humongous impact and made the audio even more transcribable. Movie Conventions Blog: Knives Out

                     This movie contains many close-up shots on individual character's faces. Usually mystery movies consist of close-up shots to show facial expressions of the character. Typically fear, anger, and sadness are the emotions showed. However, In Knives Out, the characters tend to have confused facial expressions because they clues they run into do not make sense to them. Also, the diegetic sound in this film is similar to traditional mystery movies because of the startling ambient sounds. For example, when the detective is walking through the house, the floorboards creek and clock ticks loudly.                     I really love the low angles in this movie because it shows me which characters are the powerful ones. Prosperous Performance on The Pitch

           On this day my groupmate and I took to the softball field for our second attempt at filming the outdoor portion of our commercial. Today, however, we came supplied with the correct attire and equipment. This preparedness also showed me and my groupmate's progress just in the span of one day. For example, I and my groupmate also improved dramatically by more efficiently filming and by having better insight as to where shots will fall into place in our final product. This is especially shown in the way I and my groupmate shot the first scene of the day.      The first scene that we filmed today on the softball field was a bit stressful because my groupmates forced absence on our last day of filming resulted in us having to expedite the shots of our actor dribbling and performing skill moves with a soccer ball.
