Project Blog

This blog marks the final blog of my third and final project for this year of learning. The production of this film has been a joyous yet lengthy process that has thought me a lot about my groupmates. The overall production of this process was much less stressful than that of the previous enhanced ability to edit and film. However, this film showed me that my journey of learning was only beginning and there is still much to learn. Throughout this project, the most developed aspect of my filming mind was my ability to identify control and authoritative the planning process. This was most prevalent in my storyboard creation in which my skills in identifying bad ideas increased with each page of our storyboard. This increase in skills was also observed in my film itself as my ability to capture quality establishing shots. These examples though are only a few of the leaps I have made in editing, filming, sound, and quality control. This project has been a breakthrough in my filming

As the timer winds down till the final products deadline final changes and alterations are in the works. These changes have included changes to title size, music changes, and overall editing adjustments. An example of this was today when I was tasked with remixing the music levels of the project. This task became necessary after my group remixed and replacement of the original audio in some scenes which completely disrupted the relationship of the music with our project. The first step I took in this process was just relistening to the project with my eyes closed to gather a better understanding of the audio issues. What I noticed from these changes was that the audio levels in scenes with voiceovers seemed really off as the music was way too loud. To fix this issue I decided to recalibrate the music rather than the original audio by turning it down a few notches. These changes made a humongous impact and made the audio even more transcribable. This change also made the audio seem less

Changes Made From Film Review

After reviewing my film extensively my group concurred there were numerous areas to be improved upon. This includes issues with audio and poor transitions. The primary issue my group needed to tackle was the poor audio quality. Throughout our entire project, the audio levels were often poor or low quality which hindered the viewing experience. These issues were highlighted in the elevator and parking garage scenes. However, after a long period of editing, we corrected our mistakes and the audio after a long period of recalibration. However, after the fix was completed and we rewatched our film, we noticed that the audio sounded quite grainy. Because of this, we wound up reshooting the same audio clips over and over again in chase of the perfect sound. After we deemed this impossible to fix I suggest we try a new voice recording software rather than voice memos. This instantly solved the issue of our audio and we moved on to the next issue. The review of our film also highlighted some o

After concluding our film review and identifying the weaknesses of our project we began to outline how we planned to correct our errors. We began to do this by determining which specific areas of the film were of the lowest quality and the specific issues that were occurring rather than just identifying the general problem. After completing this process we decided that the best option would be to reedit and utilize further editing to increase the quality of the shots rather than reshooting. We deemed this option most fit because the actors in the film are all very busy outside of school and an unexpected reshooting would be extremely difficult. We also decided upon this posture because undergoing a long and grueling process would also require us to scrap camera work and angling that would be extremely difficult to recreate. These difficulties in reshooting and gathering groupmates to film our project is what swayed our decision to repair via editing.    We began this re-editing proce

Film Reveiw

Over the weekend my group edited our project and finalized our first draft of the film. After finishing this process we showed our film to a friend to determine an honest opinion of our film. This process was quite pleasant as the overall review resulted in a positive outcome. On the other-hand while the overall review was positive it was slightly nerve racking to experience the suspense of the review. Overall the main issue we faced was the quality of the audio. These issues stemmed from the background audio in some of our scenes such as the elevator. We also faced some audio technical issues in our garage scenes. The largest problem in these scenes was that the actors were speaking to quietly. Furthermore the wind added another layer of interference in the dialogue. On a positive note though the audio on our rooftop scenes was quality despite the extreme winds. This was due to my direction of the authors to scream not only for emotion but also to overdo the unwanted audio coming fro

Production Blog: Filming

Today my group embarked on our second day of filming. Today the weather and conditions looked ideal and we were excited to approach the day. These great conditions inspired me to move expeditiously to collect my costume and the costume of my groupmates. Then I collected the props required of me for my project, then I traveled to the setting of my film. Once I arrived at the setting I met with my group and waited for the remaining actors to arrive. Once they did so we leisurely headed to the elevator to film as the indoor nature and good conditions provided us with no reason to hurry. Once we finally reached the elevator for filming arranged for me to watch over the vacancy of elevators and hallways to prevent an unpleasant encounter with residents. This strategy succeeded as the lookout was able to call out residents successfully every time they were present. After filming this scene we began to film our scenes in the stairwell. These scenes were much easier to film as the stairwells
